VIRTUAL ENGLISH WEEK 2020

Hello Everyone,

The English Department would like to give a big round of applause and say thanks to everyone that participated and made another English Week at Sebastian School a success.

This was a very different and special English Week because of the pandemic that we are experiencing. But VIRTUAL ENGLISH WEEK, which took place from July 20 to July 24, was just as exciting as the previous years and that was noted by the enthusiastic participation of the students and the cooperation of the parents and guardians.

The total number of participants for all levels was 64 and they made it very hard for the judges to decide on the winners.

The videos uploaded were according to the following levels and categories:

Pre-K and Kindergarten: Sing a Song

1st – 4th Grades: My Profile

5th – 8th Grades: Draw My Life

9th – 12th Grades: Public Speaking

The students that participated were very prompt in uploading their videos and are anxiously waiting for the results.

The English Department is very confident that when the videos are watched more students will be encouraged to participate next year. (You´ll love the videos). It´s amazing to see the good work that our students are doing and during these very special circumstances, their English continues to improve.

The winners will be announced when the school returns after the break.

CONGRATULATIONS to ALL of the participants! GREAT JOB!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

ENGLISH WEEK 2019

The Annual English Week at Sebastian School took place from June 10 th to June 14 th .
We held different activities where our students were able to show and share the abilities they have

learnt during their English studies at our school.

The activities included games for the little ones, Public Speaking and Spelling Bee. Every day of the week
had a focus on different classes, starting on Monday with our children of Pre-K and kindergarten, to

ending the week with our Senior and Junior classes.

In this year’s events we also welcomed our exchange students from California who presented a speech

explaining why they decided to come to our school.

Once again, we thank all our students, their families and our school staff for their commitment and great

enthusiasm during the week.

Without everyone’s work and support we would not have had such a good outcome.

Until next year!

Study Abroad Program

First Debate Competition 2016

On October 12th, our students from the 9th, 10th and 11th grade and their teacher of English Miss María Cristina Guzmán attended to The Wessex School of Chillán, institution that held and organized the event.

The debate competition is an opportunity to express opinions and ideas in a more challenging manner since the students have to present arguments and argue spontaneously against the opponent team by using their critical thinking skills.

The event took place in a very organized and friendly manner demonstrating respect and a spirit of healthy competition among the students.

The results we as follows:

  • 1st place: The Wessex School
  • 2nd place: Sebastian School
  • 3rd place: Colegio Concepción

Congratulations to our great students: Rocío Uribe De La Torre, Sara Hermosilla Cifuentes, María Fernanda Arias, Alex Hermosilla Cifuentes, Fernanda Corona Vásquez and Polette Parra Palavecino.
